My Journey with Autism Spectrum Disorders
My career in Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) began at Rutgers University (Go RU!), where I had the incredible opportunity to work as an undergrad at the Douglas Developmental Disability Center, a leader in cutting-edge research on Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA). After graduating, I accepted a role as a paraprofessional at a specialized ABA school and soon transitioned into a classroom teacher position.
While I loved teaching, I found myself increasingly drawn to helping students communicate more effectively. This passion led me to become a speech assistant while pursuing my Master of Science in Communication Disorders at William Paterson University (yes, I’m a Jersey girl!). Through this program, I expanded my expertise in speech and language, ABA, and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). Eventually, I was honored to oversee the speech and language program for over 114 students.
Eager to continue growing in the field, I pursued a Ph.D. to deepen my knowledge and maximize my ability to help individuals with communication challenges.
Ph.D. and Private Practice
I moved to Massachusetts to attend the University of Massachusetts - Amherst, where I completed my doctoral studies in Communication Disorders and Business. During this time, I also launched a private practice, forming lifelong relationships with families while consulting for public school programs to enhance their Autism and Developmental Disorder services.
Family Life
Along the way, I married a great guy, Jim, and we have two wonderful children—Daniel (now 20) and Ryan (17). A few years ago, we relocated to Clermont, FL (yes, we’re big Disney and Universal fans!) and have loved our sunny life here. In 2024, I joined Lake County Public Schools, where I’ve had the privilege of working with so many incredible children.

School-Based and Private Practice Services
Currently, I’m an SLP in Lake County, and I’m excited to begin my private practice here in Florida. I will be available for a limited number of after-school and weekend sessions until the school year ends. During the summer, I’ll offer morning, afternoon, and early evening sessions.
I’d love to connect and see how I can support your family's needs!
